Last September, we let our clients know that CrashPlan for Home will be phased out in 2018. Although CrashPlan for Small Business is still being offered, CrashPlan for Home will no longer be available starting October 23, 2018.

If you’re a CrashPlan for Home user looking for a new backup solution, Connectech recommends switching to Backblaze. From our experience with other customers, Backblaze is extremely reliable and operates trouble-free. It’s also very Mac-like with the controls/settings in an Apple System Preferences pane.

To transition from CrashPlan to Backblaze, first uninstall CrashPlan on your MacOS, Windows, or Linux device:

If you’re not sure which version of CrashPlan you’re running and would like help determining this, click here.

After successfully uninstalling CrashPlan, it’s fast and easy to sign up with Backblaze. A free 15-day trial is available for both Personal and Business plans.

If you’d like assistance with uninstalling CrashPlan or installing Backblaze, we’re happy to help — please contact us.
